Q. Does the winter climate affect Access tile?
A. Access Tile detectable warning surface tiles are stronger in lower temperatures and are non-porous which means that they will not absorb water through freeze thaw cycles.

Q. Does salt affect Access Tile?
A. Salt will not affect Access Tile detectable warning surface tiles. Testing has confirmed that salt, chewing gum, aerosol paint can be removed with cleaning solutions containing 15 hydrochloric acid without staining the tiles.

Q. Do you have installation demonstrations and training?
A. Installation training for concrete contractors, inspectors or anyone who needs installation training or an installation demonstration is available upon request.

Q. Can Access Tile be imbedded in asphalt?
A. It is not recommended that Access Tile detectable warning surface tiles be installed in asphalt. An alternate solution is to saw cut and remove asphalt, pour concrete in its place and embed Access Tile.

Q. What is the minimum size tile requirement that meets with the ADA Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG)?
A. The new draft guidelines specify the detectable warning surface tiles begin 6″ to 8″ from the curb line, generally at the back of the curb, and extend 2′ in the direction of travel on the curb ramp. The width of the detectable warning surface tile is specified to extend the width of the flat portion of the curb ramp. Q. What is the Access Tile warranty?
A. Replaceable Access Tile Detectable Warning Surface Tiles shall be guaranteed in writing against manufacturer’s defects for a period of five (5) years from date of sale. The guarantee includes defective work, breakage, deformation, fading and loosening of tiles.

Q. Does cutting Access Tile affect its warranty?

A. Access Tile detectable warning surface tiles can be cut to custom sizes or in a radius using a continuous rim diamond blade in a circular saw or mini-grinder. Use of a straight edge to guide the cut is advisable where appropriate. Cutting Access Tile does not void the warranty.
